The new Strange Boys album on In the Red is fucking fantastic and has been in constant rotation for the last week. It's got everything you love about 60's garage rock: jangle guitars, fuzz when there needs to be, tight drums that lean more towards feeling than technical precision, lackadaisically disaffected vocals (as if Dylan kicked it with the Kinks instead of the Band) and so on. This stuff could easily be snuck onto a Pebbles or Nuggets comp and most would not be wise to the fact that it was made some 40 years after the OG shit.

What is the right course of action here? My gut always tends towards ol' Hammurabi. Taunt and so be taunted. 'Release the names and let the people scorn' seems somewhat fitting, no?
Is that healthy, though? Won't that only solidify sociopathic tendencies in an extremely impressionable mind through shame and isolation? Probably.

I sure would hate to see the little fuckers squeak away without fair recompense, though.
